ORDINANCE 589

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 14 OF THE NORRIS MUNICIPAL CODE

BY ADDING A DEFINITION FOR "EVENT HOSTING" & TO ALLOW "EVENT HOSTING" IN THE C-1 COMMERCIAL, C-2 COMMERCIAL, S-1 SCENIC, AND S-2 SCENIC BUSINESS DISTRICTS

 

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Sections 13-7-201 through 13-7-210 has delegated the responsibility to municipalities to adopt regulations designed to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare of its citizenry; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Tennessee Code Annotated, this amendment to the Norris Zoning Ordinance has been reviewed and recommended by the Norris Municipal Planning Commission, and

 

WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Norris concurs with the recommendation of the Planning Commission and has held a public hearing pursuant to the municipal code of the City of Norris;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED that Title 14 of the City of Norris Municipal Code be amended as herein contained that:

 

Section 1.   Amend section 14-203, Definitions, by adding:

 

 "Event Hosting" - "Places of public assembly including conference and meeting space, banquet and reception halls, catering services, and other businesses that provide event services for a fee.  Parking requirements for "Event Hosting" shall be regulated in accordance with Norris Zoning Ordinance, Title 14, Section 14-405, subsection 1.n. "Restaurants."

 

Section 2.   Amend section 14-308, C-1 Central Commercial District, section 1, Uses Permitted, by adding:

"j. Event Hosting"

 

Section 3.   Amend section 14-309, C-2 General Commercial District, section 1, Uses Permitted, by adding:

"l. Event Hosting"

 

Section 4.  Amend section 14-314, S-1 Scenic District, section 1, Uses Permitted, by adding:

"k. Event Hosting"

 

 

 

 

Section 5.   Amend section 14-315, S-2 Scenic District, section 1, Uses Permitted, by adding:

"k. Event Hosting"

 

 

Section 6.   This ordinance shall take effect immediately after its final passage and required public hearing, the welfare of the City of Norris requiring it.
