RESOLUTION 2-2012

 

 

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM THE TENNESSEE LOCAL PARKS AND RECREATION FUND

 

 

            WHEREAS, the City of Norris supports all attempts to improve recreation opportunities within the City; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Tennessee Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF), as administered by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation offers grants to local governments for partial financing of improvements made to local recreational facilities; and

 

                WHEREAS, City of Norris has funds from a local business organization to provide necessary matching funds that will be used to satisfy the fifty percent (50%) funding match required by the LPRF for all proposed improvements,

                       

 

                         NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Norris City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to prepare an application to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Recreation Educational Services under the LPRF program to fund the proposed improvements that will be made at the Oak Road Park, and that work will be completed within two years of grant award.  The application would seek grant funds not to exceed an amount of $20,000, with matching amount not to exceed $20,000 as already provided by a local business organization.    Property used for LPRF grants will be compliant with the Notice of Limitation of Use.
