BE IT REMEMBERED THAT THE CITY OF NORRIS CITY COUNCIL MET IN SPECIAL CALLED SESSION ON APRIL
25, 2011 WITH THE FOLLOWING COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: JACK BLACK, LOY HOHNSON, TOMMY MARINER, CHRIS MITCHELL AND JOY WILSON
Mayor Chris Mitchell called the special called session to order.
City Manager Tim Hester would like to add on the agenda bid approval for community building HVAC project
City Manager Hester recommends that council approves this HVAC project.
1. Council Member Tommy Mariner moved to accept HVAC project. Seconded by Council Member Jack
Black. Motion carried by voice vote.
City Manager Hester presents an overview of the
package store applicant process. Only 1 application was received by the specified deadline. Stephanie
Sawyer and Jeff Watson submitted the application for a store to be located on Hwy 61 by C & D Company. City Manager
Hester recommends this be approved by council, as the application fulfills all requirements as set forth by City Ordinance,
except that such approval should be contingent on the City Attorney review and secondly, State requires Ms. Sawyer to run
a notice in the local newspaper for 3 weeks, of the Business that is going to be in the City, location, and if any one had
any issues to compile with city.
General discussion ensued with various Council Members asking
questions of the applicants about the application and conformance to requirements defined by Ordinance.
2. Council Member Jack Black makes a motion to approve this Package store applicant contingent on the attorney
review and Ms. Sawyer putting in the newspaper the required notice for her new store. Seconded by Council Member Loy
Johnson. Motion carried by voice vote.
Member Tommy Mariner moved to adjourn. Seconded by Council Member Loy Johnson. Motion carried by voice vote.
